About Highland Wood Energy

Highland Wood Energy was established in Fort William in December 2003 with the co-founders having spent a number of years working within the wood heating industry.

The work of the company is founded on the belief that wood heating will contribute greatly towards the sustainable development of Scotland. Wood heating makes use of our substantial timber resource to produce low cost and renewable heating, whilst at the same time paying dividends for the local economy.

With unrivalled practical experience, ranging from domestic to large scale projects, and our work in assisting the establishment of wood fuel supply chains, we provide clients with a uniquely comprehensive approach to wood heating.

Achievements

Our achievements to date include:

A variety of wood heating equipment is available on the market place, and choosing the most suitable product for a particular project is a major contributor to ongoing convenient operation.


Highland Wood Energy are not tied to any equipment manufacturer, and with a range of wood heating equipment at our disposal, ensure that the right system is chosen for each individual project.

Training and Demonstration

Knowledge, information and training will ensure the continued growth of a wood heating industry and the success of individual installations.
Highland Wood Energy ensure comprehensive training is provided for all systems installed. We are also developing a wood energy demonstration centre to provide training and demonstration on wood heating systems and the production of wood fuel.


Assistance with wood fuel supply

Highland Wood Energy have assisted local suppliers in establishing wood fuel supplies in Skye and Lochalsh, Lochaber and Argyll, Badenoch and Strathspey and Inverurie, and have been instrumental in establishing domestic wood pellet supply. We will be more than pleased to assist local suppliers, or those clients wishing to produce their own wood fuel, in becoming operational.
